Hit exactly 1,000 miles on my bike commute last Tuesday

I ride my bike to work every day, rain or shine, and last Tuesday I crossed 1,000 miles for the year. It was just a regular Tuesday morning, but seeing that number on my bike computer felt huge. I started commuting by bike back in January because I was tired of paying for gas and parking. Has anyone else kept track of a commuting milestone that surprised them?

Wait did you track it from day one or did you just notice the number pop up? I started biking to work back in march and my odometer just rolled over 750 which totally caught me off guard. I keep telling myself I'll stop and check the miles every week but then I get lazy and forget until I see a big round number like that. Honestly I was surprised at how fast it adds up, like I thought I was just putzing around town but apparently I've been covering some ground. Also your 1,000 in like 10 months is solid respect for the rain or shine thing.

Holy cow congrats! I felt the exact same way when my odometer hit 500 a few months ago. I actually set a monthly goal after that to keep going. What worked for me was just focusing on the small wins like beating my own time by a minute or noticing my legs getting stronger on hills. I track everything on Strava and it really helps seeing the weekly totals add up. That 1,000 is huge though, especially with rain or shine, that takes some serious grit lol
