Guy on the 7:15 train to Chicago called our route 'the quiet car of regrets' and now I hear it every morning
He was joking with his buddy about how nobody talks on the 7:15 out of Aurora, and I've been weirdly self conscious about my silence on that train ever since, has anyone else had a stranger's one liner stick with them for months?
Oh man, small thing but that train doesn't come out of Aurora. The 7:15 to Chicago is the BNSF line, so it's coming from Aurora, yeah, but the quiet car thing is what got me. Metra actually labels the cars, the quiet car is usually the one closest to the front, so if your guy was sitting in a regular car he wasn't even in the quiet one. That's probably why it stuck with you, because he was wrong about the whole setup and your brain knew it. Some guy behind me once said my sneakers looked like "lawn mowers" and I still check my feet in the mirror before I leave the house.
