TIL your body can absorb oxygen through your skin, but only underwater
Was reading some dive physiology stuff during a surface interval near Port Townsend. Turns out there's a thing called cutaneous respiration, but it's basically useless for us. You'd need skin as thin as a frog's to get any real oxygen. Still, kind of wild to think that if we were built different, we could just hang out at 30 feet without a tank.
