It took three years of digging through dollar bins before I saw my collection actually change
I finally noticed my long boxes are full of books I actually want to read instead of just filler from blind buys, and it's because I started sticking to a strict $1 limit and waiting for the right copy of older X-Men issues at my local shop in Denver has anyone else seen their tastes shift after being patient like that?

Three years of dollar bin diving just to realize my "patient approach" means I've got a very organized collection of books nobody else wants. Still beats the twelve copies of X-Force #1 I accumulated in my first year of blind buying.

The dollar bin is a cruel mistress, lol. I've got three different long boxes filled with random 90s Image comics I'll never read, just because I thought they'd be worth something someday. At least we've both learned that patience just means we're hoarding mediocrity with style.

Honestly I feel called out by your X-Force #1 comment because I think I've got eight copies scattered across three different boxes like I was stockpiling for some apocalyptic comic shortage that never happened. My big breakthrough was realizing my dollar bin patience just means I've graduated from hoarding bad 90s variants to hoarding slightly less bad 90s X-Men issues with beat up spines. At least now when I open a box I can pretend I curated it instead of just panic bought it.
