Finally got a cheap burr grinder 3 weeks back and brewed the same beans I have bought from the same shop for ages, and the cup tasted like a totally different drink. I always figured my drip setup was the weak link, so I kept buying nicer beans to fix it, which is like putting premium gas in a car with a flat tire. The old stuff tasted flat and kind of papery and I just thought that was what coffee was. First cup from the grinder hit me with an actual sweetness I did not know was in there. Now the little bag I used to stretch for 3 weeks is gone in 9 days and my wallet is feeling it. Anybody got a cheap bean that holds up well when you are going through it this fast? I need options before I start roasting my own in a popcorn maker like some guy at the bar keeps telling me to do.
