Took me 8 years to realize my offset numbers were lying to me

Was fighting a run of parts with .003 variation last month and finally noticed the probe was hitting a worn spot on the fixture, so all my stored offsets were garbage from day one, anyone else trust their tool setter too much and never question the baseline?
