Stopped using coolant mist, went back to flood coolant on my mill

Used to swear by mist cooling for years on my Haas, thought it kept things cleaner and saved on mess. Then last month I ran a batch of 4140 parts for a client in Austin and got brutal tool wear, like 40% less life per insert. Switched back to flood coolant with a higher pressure setup and the finish came out way better, plus the chips clear out of deep pockets now. Anyone else ditch mist for flood when running tougher materials, or am I the only one who took this long to learn it?

My buddy Dave burned through a whole box of end mills before he figured that one out too.
