My smart power strip hack is shrinking my carbon footprint

I recently picked up a smart power strip to cut down on energy waste. It turns off power to devices like my TV and game console when they're not in use. This small change has lowered my electricity use by about 10% each month. It's a simple way to fight climate change from home.

Consider how less power draw also cuts down on heat in your room. That means your AC doesn't work as hard during summer months. You save on cooling costs without even trying.

Ever notice how old tube TVs felt like a space heater? Gray_mason30's point about heat makes me miss those less. My buddy's basement setup used to bake us out of the room in July.
