Vent: Found out our property taxes are going up way more than I thought
I was looking at the Cuyahoga County fiscal office site and saw the new valuations. My home's assessed value jumped 22% from last year. Has anyone else in Lakewood seen a huge increase and know how to appeal?

Ugh, that's a brutal jump. Did your notice come with any info about how they decided on that new value? I just went through the appeal mess last year and the main thing they wanted was solid sales data from your street.

My notice just said "market analysis," which is code for they guessed. Clark's right about needing street sales, but my street has one weird flip from 2022 and then a bunch of retirees who haven't moved since the 90s. Not exactly helpful data.
