Thought those basement waterproofing guys were all scams until my Tremont place flooded
Paid $4k for a full interior drain tile system after the third sump pump failure. Has anyone else in an old brick house actually had a good result with this?

Honestly, we were in the same boat with our 1920s brick house. After trying everything else, we finally went with an interior drain tile system too. It was a big job, they had to break up the basement floor around the edges, but it's been bone dry for three years now. Even with those crazy spring rains we get. Best money we ever spent on this old place.

Wait they had to break up the actual basement floor? That sounds like a huge mess. @diana_west27 you must have had so much dust and noise for a while. I can't believe it stayed dry through those heavy spring rains, that's a serious test for any fix. Makes me wonder if we need to look at something that big for our place. Was it hard to find a company you trusted to do that kind of work?

Didn't they have to run a new sewer line for you last year, @ericj45? That's a similar scale of mess. Big concrete saws and jackhammers. The dust gets in everything, even with plastic sheeting. Makes you appreciate a dry basement when it's finally done though. Sounds like Diana's fix really held up.
