Gutter guards from the box store vs the local Cleveland Heights shop, and the price wasn't the deciding factor
Last month I got two quotes for gutter guards on my 1920s colonial over in Cleveland Heights, and the big box store install came out about $350 cheaper. But the guy from the local shop actually got up on my roof, poked at the fascia, and showed me where the wood was soft from years of overflow. The box store crew never even pulled out a ladder, they just measured and handed me a paper. I went with the local shop after the owner said "that cheap guard will just hide the rot you're already growing," and I'm glad I did because two boards needed replacing. Has anyone else seen a roofing quote where the cheaper option was actually more expensive in the long run?
