Basement flooded twice in 5 years on West 48th, thinking about a French drain before spring
Bought the house near West 48th and Clark back in 2019. Old clay tile, and last March the thaw backed up so bad I had 2 inches of water by the furnace. Shop vac got most of it but the pad under the water heater is still stained. A guy from a waterproofing company quoted me $6,800 for a full perimeter French drain and sump. My neighbor says he just regraded his yard for $900 and it fixed 80 percent of it. Before I spend that kind of money, has anyone here actually had a perimeter drain done and did it hold up through a Cleveland spring?
