I finally stopped polishing chrome before reassembly and it saved my whole weekend
Spent 3 years doing show-level chrome detail on every bolt before putting my 67 Mustang back together, then a buddy in Detroit said he just wipes it clean and moves on. Tried his way last month on the rear bumper, cut maybe 4 hours off the job and zero regrets. Anyone else out there wasting time on parts nobody will ever see?
Totally get this. Took me way too long to figure out that nobody crawls under your car at a show with a flashlight. Same goes for the underside of the hood and the firewall. Just clean it, spray it, bolt it on and drive the thing.
