Ridge tile job in Gary kicked my butt until I tried a mortar bag
Spent four hours last Saturday fighting a ridge line on an old brick chimney in Gary, and every trowel full of mortar kept sliding off the crown before I could smooth it. My hands were cramping and I was about to call it a day when my supplier mentioned using a mortar bag with a cut tip instead of a trowel for the joints. Tried it on the last three feet and the stuff went exactly where I aimed, no drips down the flashing. Got the whole rest of the crown done in 40 minutes. Has anyone else gone that route, or am I late to this party?
