Warning: Visiting that busy downtown coffee shop after 2pm is a trap

I stopped at Brew & Grind on Main Street yesterday at 3pm thinking it would be quiet, and the whole place was packed with people on laptops taking up every table for hours. One guy had three drinks spread out and was literally sleeping in his chair. Has anyone else dealt with this at a specific cafe near them?

Oh man, I feel this so hard it hurts. I'm the guy who shows up with a single coffee and a half-eaten cookie and somehow ends up camped out for four hours pretending to be productive while really just scrolling Twitter. I tried a place last week near my apartment and there was a dude with a literal desk lamp plugged into the wall, notebooks everywhere, and a blanket over his lap. I couldn't even find a spot so I just walked out and bought a gas station coffee like a loser.

The desk lamp guy is a whole new level of commitment, I respect the hustle but where do you even plug that in.

oh man, @the_anthony i absolutely feel you on the gas station coffee move. i once showed up to a cafe with a whole tote bag of stuff like a laptop stand, a bluetooth keyboard, and a backup battery pack, only to find no outlets anywhere. ended up sitting on the floor next to a planter trying to charge my phone like some kind of digital hobbit. the desk lamp guy is honestly just living his truth, but i bet he had an extension cord hidden somewhere, that's the real key.
