Tried the classic "tap a stranger's shoulder and ask for directions" thing at a mall in Columbus, got sent the LONG way
So last Tuesday I was at Easton Town Center in Columbus trying to find a specific store, and my phone was dead. I figured hey, this is the perfect chance to be a normal human and just ask someone. I spotted this older guy in a Buckeyes jacket looking friendly and asked where the store was. He got real excited, said "oh you don't want to go that way, trust me," and gave me this whole elaborate route through the food court and around a parking garage. I walked for like 12 minutes. The store was literally 40 feet behind me the entire time. I looped all the way around and ended up right back where I started, facing the same sign. The kicker is he was so sure about it, like he was doing me this big favor. Next time I'm just gonna find an outlet and charge my phone for two minutes. Has anyone else gotten confidently sent the wrong way by someone who seemed super helpful?
