Hot take: one Zoom call with my landlord's beagle cost me a $120 cleaning fee
I was doing a video interview from my apartment in Denver last month and my neighbor's beagle somehow got in through the patio door I left cracked. He jumped straight onto my lap mid-sentence and knocked my coffee onto the carpet, then sat there wagging while I tried to explain my five year plan to a hiring manager. The whole thing got worse when he started howling at the mail truck, so I had to mute myself for 40 seconds and just nod like an idiot. I did not get the job, and my landlord charged me $120 for the carpet. Since then I only take calls in my closet with the door shut, which sounds insane but I have not had one single pet disaster in six weeks. Does anyone else have a spot in their place that is basically pet proof, or am I the only one hiding in a closet like a goblin?
