Veteran on the crew made me ditch my power stretcher habit
Been doing carpet for about 6 years, always used the power stretcher for every room. Then old Dave from up in Boise watched me set up in a small hallway and told me to just hand knee it since the run was under 8 feet and the floor had a weird hump. I argued for a minute but tried it, saved me 15 minutes and the carpet laid flat without overstretching. Now I only pull out the big rig for rooms over 12 feet or heavy padding. Anyone else skip the power stretcher on short runs or am I the last to catch on?
