That Tuesday when the crown molding in the Hendersons' dining room actually came out perfect on the first miter
I've done a lot of crown molding in my 11 years of trim work, and it usually takes me 2 or 3 tries to get the corners tight. Last Tuesday I was in a house out in Cedar Park and every single cut landed dead on, scarf joints and all. My miter saw was set at 31.6 and I didn't have to shim a single piece. Then Wednesday hit and I blew through 3 sticks of poplar on one outside corner that just would not close up. Does anyone else have days where your hands just know the angles and other days where nothing lines up no matter how careful you are?
