My kid's teacher said something about building a birdhouse that got me thinking
She told the class 'measure twice, cut once' is about more than wood, it's about planning your whole day. I realized I rush through my morning setup and forget tools. How do you plan your day before you even pick up a saw?

My grandpa always laid out his tools the night before.

My buddy Jake forgot his socket wrench set on a big engine job last year. He lost half the morning driving back to his garage to get it. That kind of prep really does save your whole day.

Ever done that and just wanted to scream? Yeah, a checklist is your best friend.
