My journeyman told me to throw out my plastic shims and I fought him on it for two weeks
He said they crush under load and rattle loose within a year, and dang if every door I hung with them needed re-shimming by spring. What shim material are you all using that actually holds up, because I'm not going back to cedar bundles either.

Man, same here, fought my guy for weeks and every one of those doors sagged by June.
