Told my boss in the middle of a shift that I was done covering for a guy who never showed
Two weeks ago at the help desk I got stuck taking the phones alone for the third Friday in a row because my coworker kept calling out, and when my manager asked me to stay late again I just said no out loud in front of two other people. He pulled me into the little conference room after and asked what was going on, so I told him straight that I wasn't mad about the work, I was mad that nobody ever wrote the guy up and I kept eating his tickets. We ended up agreeing that I'd stop covering his shifts starting Monday and it's his problem now. I'm not sure if it made me look bad or if it finally fixed something, honestly. Has anyone pushed back on covering for a flaky teammate and had it go sideways?
