Rant: people keep saying you need a degree to get into IT and that advice cost my nephew 2 years
My nephew sat out of the job market for 2 years in Cleveland because everyone kept telling him he needed a bachelor's to even get a help desk job. Meanwhile his buddy got hired at a local hospital IT desk with just a CompTIA A+ cert and 6 weeks of studying. I run a dog grooming shop, so nobody asks me for career advice, but I told him to just start applying and he had 3 interviews in a month. Who is actually telling young people that a degree is the only door in?
