The camping trip that rained out became my best Saturday in months
I had a whole weekend planned at Lake Tahoe with some friends, but a storm rolled in Friday night and we had to cancel. Instead of moping around, I grabbed my old telescope from the garage and set it up in the backyard. Turns out the clouds broke around 2am and I got a clear view of Saturn and its rings for the first time. Now I'm thinking about joining a local astronomy group. Anyone else find a new hobby after a plan fell through?

Honestly, that Saturn moment sounds incredible. I love how you just pivoted and turned a bummer into something way cooler. Ngl, I did something similar last year when my beach trip got rained out. Ended up binge-watching a series on black holes and now I'm kinda obsessed with space docs. That whole "rainy day turns into a new rabbit hole" thing is real.

Hold up, I gotta say I see it differently. Staring at Saturn is cool and all, but calling a trip that got cancelled your "best Saturday" sounds like you're kinda selling yourself short. I mean, you had plans with friends and the whole Lake Tahoe experience, right? Stargazing solo in your backyard is nice, but it's not the same as being out there with people you care about. I guess I just think sometimes we romanticize these plan B moments too much when it's okay to just admit the original thing was better. That Saturn moment is a solid silver lining, but let's not pretend it tops a weekend full of hiking and hanging with your crew.
