Snowstorm killed my camping trip, ended up fixing my neighbor's leaky faucet for 2 hours

Drove 45 minutes to the trailhead last Saturday and the Ranger said the road was closing, so I turned around and went home. My neighbor saw me unloading the car and asked for help with her kitchen sink, which turned into a whole plumbing adventure and honestly was way more interesting than sitting in a tent in the rain. Anyone else had a cancellation turn into something completely random like that?
