My fishing trip got canceled last Saturday, so I spent the whole afternoon untangling my tackle box

There were about 15 feet of caught line and three rusty hooks in there from last summer. I finally got it all sorted by around 6pm and even found a lure I thought I lost two years ago. Has anyone else had a canceled plan turn into a surprisingly satisfying organizing session?

Actually, that crankbait you found might not be the same one you think it is. I picked up a similar chartreuse shad pattern at a garage sale last fall, and it turned out to be a knockoff when I compared the hook hangers to a real one. Not saying yours is fake, but there's a lot of junk out there now that looks like the real deal from a distance. You should check the split rings too, I've had cheap ones snap on a fish before and lost the whole lure. Organizing is cool and all, but I'd rather be out on the water finding that stuff the hard way.

Jumped right into untangling my spare fishing gear after a sudden rainstorm ruined my solo camping trip last month. Ended up spending like three hours on the kitchen floor sorting through a tangled mess of braided line and spinnerbaits from two seasons ago. Found a little crankbait I'd been looking for since last spring, it was stuck in a tangle of hooks and old monofilament. Got the whole box reorganized by size and color, even switched out some rusty split rings for fresh ones. Felt way more satisfied than I would have sitting in the rain waiting for a bite, honestly.

Right about the crankbait, but that "braided line" you mentioned? That's probably braided Dacron or maybe even Spectra, not actual braided line the way most folks mean it. Braid these days is usually a different material, the stuff they use for heavy cover fishing. I know, I sound like a tackle snob. But the real story here is that little crankbait you found. I've got a similar one, a chartreuse shad pattern that's been MIA for two years now. I just know it's in a tangle somewhere in my own kitchen floor disaster zone.
