Vent: I dropped $80 on a 'weatherproof' power bank that died in a light drizzle.

The thing got damp, not soaked, during a weekend trip to the Red River Gorge and now it won't hold a charge at all, so what's a truly waterproof battery pack you guys actually trust?

Yeah, that rubber seal thing @the_miles mentioned is key. I've seen the same with tool batteries on a damp job site, the cheap ones always fail first. It's all about that little gasket keeping the water out.

I read a review last year that really stuck with me. The writer took several "weatherproof" power banks on a kayaking trip. Only the ones with a rubber seal around the charging port survived a full day out. My own Anker pack has that seal, and it's been through some rough weather on hiking trails without a hiccup. That specific design feature seems to be the real difference maker.

Totally feel that. It's always the small details that make or break gear.
