Rain flooded my tent at 2am near Lake Tahoe, fixed it with a tarp and a tree branch
Camped at a free spot off Highway 50 last month and woke up to water pooling under my sleeping pad because I skipped the footprint. I grabbed a cheap 8x10 tarp from my truck, tied two corners to a fallen pine limb, and propped the other two with rocks so the runoff drained downhill. Worked well enough to sleep till dawn, but has anyone else rigged a emergency rain fly that actually held through a storm?
