Rant: I was leaving 4 feet of slack coiled behind every wall plate for 2 years
Had a callback last week at an apartment complex off Highway 9 where a tenant's living room outlet kept cutting out. Pulled the plate and found my old coil sitting right against the box, pinched and half rubbed through. Turns out that habit I picked up from my first trainer, "always leave yourself a service loop," doesn't mean stuffing it in the wall cavity where the drywall screws can chew it. I've been doing it on every drop since I started my own thing. The guy who trained me never said where to put the slack, just that I needed some. Now I zip tie it back along the stud 8 inches up and it hasn't bit me since. Any of you got a trainer habit you had to unlearn the hard way?
