Vent: hit 47 drawers on one kitchen job in Austin and had to redo every single box
So I took on this big kitchen out in Austin back in March, 47 drawers across 9 cabinets, and I was feeling pretty good about my pace. I got all the boxes built in 6 days, which beat my own guess of 9, and I figured I'd nailed it. Then the client's designer walks through and points out my drawer fronts sit 1/8 inch proud on the left side of every single bank. Turns out my tablesaw fence drifted just enough that my box widths were off by about 1/16 inch, and it blended in fine on one or two but 47 of them stacked up ugly. I had to pull every box apart, recut the sides, and reassemble, which ate a whole weekend I didn't have. Now I check my fence with a dial caliper before every run, no exceptions. Has anyone found a faster way to catch drift before it piles up like that?
