Unpopular opinion: I was wrong about pocket screws for face frames
Honestly, an old guy at a lumberyard in Portland told me my face frames looked 'nervous' and asked if I only used pocket screws. He said the wood moves too much over time and I needed more glue surface. So I tried his method of cutting a 3/8 inch groove in the stile and a matching tongue on the rail, glued and clamped. The frames are way more solid now and I don't get those tiny seasonal gaps. Anyone else make a switch like that after some blunt advice?

Which old guy, the one who said to never trust anyone under 30? I mean, he might have a point.

Man, my grandpa said the same thing and then got scammed by a 25-year-old.
