Pro tip: that $40 magnetic featherboard for the table saw is the best money I've spent this year
I always figured featherboards were for guys with jigs and no hands, then a 3 foot rip on a cabinet side kicked back on me in the shop back in March and scared me straight. The magnetic one takes 4 seconds to set and keeps the stock tight to the fence, so my edges are dead straight now. Anyone got a fence setup they trust more than a featherboard for tall rips?
Grabbed the same magnetic one after a kickback nearly took my fingers last summer and I won't rip without it now. It takes seconds to slap on and my cuts come out straight every time, which saves me so much time on cabinet sides. How close do you run yours to the blade?
