Appreciation post: the old guy at the lumber yard in Tulsa who showed me how to read grain before I bought a single board
I used to pick oak by whatever looked darkest at the top of the stack until he made me flip 4 boards over and pointed out how the grain runs out the end, and now I can spot a board that'll tear out on a router from 10 feet away, so what's the one yard trick you wish somebody had shown you sooner?
