Showerthought: my band saw blade snapped 20 minutes into a 60 pound beef order on Friday and I am still mad about how I handled it
Had a 60 pound order of bone in short ribs and chuck for a restaurant client in Boise on Friday morning, and 20 minutes in my band saw blade snapped clean through. I had a choice: drive 40 minutes to the supply shop for a new blade or finish the cuts by hand with a breaker and a 10 inch knife. I went the hand route to save the client's timeline, and it took me 2 extra hours and my forearms are still sore. Part of me thinks a pro would have just made the drive and eaten the delay. Other side of me thinks saving the order matters more than saving my arms. What would you guys do, blade up front or push through by hand?
