Warning: A guy in Austin told me my prices were "too fair" and I almost ignored him
I ran into him at a coffee meetup near South Congress about 3 months ago and he asked what I charged for my design packages. When I told him $800 flat, he just said "you're leaving money on the table" and walked off to get a refill. I brushed it off at first, but then I did the math on my hours and realized I was making like $19 an hour. Raised my base to $1,600 two weeks later and nobody blinked, actually booked more clients because they assumed I was better. Has anyone else had a random stranger's throwaway comment mess with your whole pricing setup?
