My used car's AC died in July, the repair quote made me want to cry
So my 2012 Honda with 140k miles just blew cold air for the last time, right in the middle of a 95 degree week here in Austin. I took it to a shop that quoted me $1,400 for a new compressor and condenser, which is almost a third of what I paid for the car last year. Instead of fixing it, I bought a $30 window unit for my bedroom and a $25 fan for the car, then started keeping my drives under 20 minutes. It's rough wearing shorts to every showing I do, but I'm pocketing that $1,400 for a bigger down payment next spring. Has anyone else driven through a brutal summer with busted AC and just accepted the sweat?
