DAE think a cash-only envelope for fun money beats a budgeting app?
Last month I split my $200 fun budget into two $100 envelopes (one for week 1 and 2, one for week 3 and 4) instead of tracking it in an app, and I ended week 4 with $18 left for the first time in about a year. My friends keep telling me apps are the only way to stay on top of spending, but seeing the bills thin out made me way more careful than any notification ever did. Has anyone else gone back to cash for just one category and actually stuck with it?
