Tried Airbnb vs hostel in Bangkok on the same trip last month and the cost difference was wild
I paid $12 a night at a decent hostel in Khao San Road but the Airbnb halfway across the city cost $38 plus a $7 tuk tuk ride each way, so how do you guys balance saving money with wanting your own space?

I read somewhere that hostels are way cheaper because you're basically just paying for a bed, not a whole room.
