Canned black beans beat my dried ones on cost per meal, and I did the math at the kitchen table
I cooked a pound of dried black beans in my slow cooker last month and tracked every cost, and it came to $1.89 with the onion and spices. Then I did the same with two cans at $1.09 each from Kroger and got the same 6 cups of beans for $2.18, but I saved 4 hours and the canned ones tasted better in my chili. Does anyone else just keep cans on hand for the weeknights and save the dried ones for the weekend?
