That trick with the hose and a sponge for cleaning brick dust off the wall saved me 3 hours last week
I was doing a big brick face job in Spokane and the dust from cutting was caked on the wall pretty bad. Usually I go at it with a stiff brush and it takes forever, and half the time I still miss spots. A guy I work with said to try a damp sponge and a garden hose on a light mist, just working top to bottom, and letting the water do most of the work. I tried it and the dust came off in sheets, way faster than brushing. I did have to be careful not to soak the mortar joints too much, but keeping the mist light did the trick. It cut my cleanup from about 4 hours down to a little over an hour. Has anyone tried a different method that works just as good without dragging a hose around?
