Swapped to a 10-inch trowel for my last job in Columbus
Used to always grab my 8-inch for brickwork, but for these big commercial walls the extra coverage speed was a game changer. Anyone else find their go-to size shifts with the project scope?

Just gotta admit my go-to trowel changes based on whatever I happen to grab first out of the truck that morning. At this point my tool bag is a clown car of half used sizes.

Hang on, hold up. The handle is SMOOTH AS GLASS from years of gripping it? That's not a tool anymore, that's a relic. I've seen guys with trowels that looked like they survived a war, but that's a whole different level of dedication. You might as well just polish it up and put it on a shelf for the grandkids to fight over someday. That thing has seen more mornings than my coffee maker. Respect for keeping it alive with tape and hope, but that's a museum piece.

That clown car thing hits different when you're digging through the bag at 6am half asleep. I got this old margin trowel that's been in there so long the handle is smooth as glass from pure grip. Half my gear is held together with tape and good intentions at this point lol.
