Saw a 1920s brick wall in Pittsburgh last month, mortar joints still tight as the day they went up
I was up in Pittsburgh for a wedding and walked past this old warehouse by the river. Close to a hundred years old and the brick was still dead level, joints maybe 3/8 inch all the way up. You could tell the guys who laid it took their time and never rushed a course. Makes me wonder if we're setting bricks too fast these days, or is it just different mortar making it look that way to me?
