PSA: My brick porch steps are sinking after heavy rains

I noticed my brick porch steps are sinking after the recent heavy rains. The mortar is starting to crack. Any tips on how to fix this without tearing everything out?

Check UNDERNEATH first, like @masongonzalez said, before patching mortar.

Brick porch steps sinking after just one heavy rain? That's a serious foundation problem, not just a surface issue. The mortar cracking means the whole base might be washing out underneath. How old is that porch, anyway?
