I finally spent $60 on a decent pointing trowel and it changed my workday

Used the same $12 cheap one for years and thought it was fine until I grabbed a Marshaltown last month. Has anyone else noticed how much less hand fatigue you get with a good trowel or is it just placebo?

Wait, isn't it mostly about the steel? I figured they were all the same metal until I used one that didn't need a break-in period. The balance makes a bigger difference than I expected.

That 52100 steel in vintage Wusthofs feels totally different than modern stuff, you ever notice that?

Hmm, I actually kinda disagree. I've had a few vintage Wusthofs and the steel felt harder to me, not softer. Like it took more work to get that initial edge but held it longer for sure. Maybe different batches or something?
