Finally tried that new polymer-modified mortar on a patio job

I was totally skeptical, thought it was just expensive marketing. But after laying 500 square feet with it in the rain last Thursday, the bond was solid and cleanup was way easier. Anyone have a go-to brand for this stuff that won't break the bank?

Honestly, I still think that stuff is a total rip-off for most jobs.

That "expensive marketing" line reminds me of how people like @alex_wilson79 dismiss new stuff before trying it. I see it all the time with tools and materials. Sometimes the extra cost actually saves you more in time and hassle, just like you found out.
