Question about people calling pothos "low light" plants when they clearly are not
I moved my golden pothos from a north window to a spot about 4 feet from a south window in my Chicago apartment back in March, and it put out 9 new leaves in two months after sitting nearly still for a year. People keep saying pothos is a low light plant, but mine just survived in that north window, it did not grow. The light meter on my phone read about 50 foot candles in the old spot and around 400 in the new one, so it is not even close. I think "low light" gets repeated so often that new growers stick these in dark corners and wonder why the vines are leggy and the leaves stay small. If you have kept pothos in a truly dark room and it thrived, I would like to hear about it, because I have not seen it work.
