My $6 spoon trick fixed my fussy orchid roots
My phalaenopsis kept rotting at the crown no matter what I did, so after 3 dead plants I tried watering it with a soup spoon instead of pouring from the jug. Dribbling just a tablespoon along the inner pot rim keeps the stem dry and the roots soak from below, and it's been 4 months with new leaves finally. Anyone else found a stupid simple tool that saved a plant you were about to toss?

My heart goes out to you, losing three plants like that is rough. The spoon trick is honestly genius, I never thought about how the pour itself causes the rot. I might have to steal this for my own fussy orchid before she bites it too.
