Hit 200 houseplant rescues, still get odd looks at the dumpster
I pulled my 200th abandoned plant out of a neighbor's trash pile last month, and people still think I'm strange for it. That number surprised me because I started with one sad pothos, not a mission. Has anyone else kept count of their saves, or am I the only one with a spreadsheet?
...but keeping a whole spreadsheet about it is kinda next level, ngl. I get saving a plant here and there if it looks half alive, but 200 is basically a full time hobby at that point. Do you actually need all of them, or is it just the thrill of dragging something home that makes people side eye you at the curb? I mean, I've grabbed a free fern before, but I didn't start counting my trash rescues like it was some kinda competitive sport. Honestly, the odd looks might be less about the plants and more about the fact that you're treating dumpster diving like a serious project.
