My book club told me I was summarizing instead of analyzing and now I prep discussion questions first
After 6 months of running our monthly literary fiction group, someone finally said my recaps felt like a Wikipedia plot summary, so now I jot down 3 open ended "why do you think" questions before each meeting instead of just listing what happened.

Not quite an interrogation, more like me going "so why did the author make the river flood twice" and watching everyone pause to snack on cheese cubes.

Wait, so you were basically giving them the SparkNotes version and they finally called you out on it? That's rough, but honestly kind of funny. I bet your next meeting is gonna feel like a book club interrogation with those "why do you think" questions. Just don't go overboard and turn it into a therapy session for the characters.
