The way some guys set up their rigging for a 4-inch pipe lift makes me nervous
I keep seeing crews in the field using a single 3/4-inch choker on a full 20-foot length of schedule 80, which is just asking for trouble. The swing on that load is way too much for one point, especially if you're working on a site like the old Miller plant retrofit. Had a close call last year where a pipe slipped and nearly took out a ladder because the rigging wasn't balanced. What's your go-to method for a safe lift on something that size?

Seriously, a single choker on a full stick? That's just begging for a bad swing.

That setup is a one-way ticket to shank city.

My old coach in Florida swore by that setup for years. Then I saw my own ball flight and had to change my mind fast!
